The Experience
1. Pre-session consultation
To set your dog up for success, we’ll have a pre-session consultation. Now is the time to talk about any health or mobility challenges, allergies to treats, reactive behaviours or special tricks your dog knows. As well as discussing your dog’s unique personality and needs, we’ll create a vision that covers the locations, the style of images we want to create, and how we’ll keep the session fun and memorable for you and your dog.
2. Photo day
I capture images at the start and end of the day, for the most flattering golden-hour light. Locations are carefully scouted, so we can create a variety of candid and posed shots, in a gorgeous place that is meaningful to you and that brings out the best in your dog. If the weather is not cooperative on the day of your photo session, we can reschedule at your convenience.
3. Image review and consultation
After the photo session, I’ll curate a portfolio of edited images for you to choose from. And then comes the most exciting part: the big reveal. We’ll review the images, so you can select those you wish to print as wall art or include in a layflat album. If your vision includes wall art, I’ll help you choose the most fitting formats and sizes for your space, whether you’re looking to create statement pieces or a gallery wall.
4. Printing your art
You can order rich giclée-printed wall art with optimum colour integrity in a variety of sizes to suit your space. I’ll complete your order with trusted printers, so the finished portrait arrives ready to hang. Should you require matting and framing, I’m happy to help. I also design gorgeous flat-lay photo albums, with thick matte pages, so you can have a keepsake on the coffee table or book shelf that tells the story of your dog’s photo session. You will have the opportunity to review and approve the design, before your album goes to print.
